The SaltGae’ Stakeholders Platform was launched at the EIP Water Conference 2017 held in Porto last week!
This annual conference brought together policymakers, national and local government, operators, scientists, researchers, technology companies, financiers, start-ups, SMEs, utilities, city planners, industrial producers, journalists and EU institutions at the European, national and regional level to break down the barriers to innovation in the sector.
This year’s theme was “Water Innovation: Bridging Gaps, Creating Opportunities”. Innovative solutions to address major European and global water challenges were on the table. At the same time, other issues were explored: new market opportunities for these innovations, both within and outside Europe, and how to remove barriers by advancing and leveraging existing solutions.
SaltGae project was at the conference with a booth to present the project key results and launch the Stakeholders’ Platform!
The Stakeholders’ Platform was presented also during “The Hub” a concomitant event aimed to disclose the work by EIP Action Groups to solve major water and innovation challenges and give participants access to inside information about this topic. Our Innovation manager Marco De la Feld had a Tech Talk presenting the services offered by the platform for the different typologies of stakeholder.
The SaltGae’ Stakeholders Platform is an innovative tool for the mobilization and networking of stakeholders from all the different sectors related to wastewater, and for the dissemination of results with the aim of promoting paradigm shift in perception from ‘wastewater treatment’ to ‘resource valorisation’. The Platform aims to:
- educate user stakeholders concerning the potential value of their wastewaters. We will show these users how this value may be realised through the SALTGAE solution and related technologies and how this has been successful realised for other industries.
- facilitate communication by mobilising all key stakeholders around a common high impact challenge (saline wastewater) and opportunity (algae biomass).
