Water is an essential and necessary resource for life, but it is a resource that is increasingly scarce. The Agri-food industry is aware of this, and therefore, more and more companies are opting to improve their production processes and their treatment systems to obtain a more efficient water management.
The objective of this workshop is to present innovative solutions that contribute to a better and more efficient water management in the food industry. The event is mainly aimed at agro-food companies which are interested in optimizing water and energy consumption and reducing the environmental impact associated with water management..
During the day, the presentation of 3 innovative projects will be presented with the main objective of offering companies the most innovative solutions in water management. Among them, SaltGae Project will be presented proposing a sustainable and efficient solution for the treatment of high salinity wastewater from the food industry making use of algae and halotolerant bacteria for the elimination of organic matter and nutrients.
